If your earnest desire in blogging is bring glory to God and if your earnest desire in reading blogs is to find encouragement and inspiration in your vocation, then before you hit "enter" this is food for thought and serious prayer. I cannot think of a more critical time than now to turn our country's attention to the plight of the babies not yet born and particularly, to those with special needs. The world of prenatal expertise advocates daily for the quick murder of children who are deemed unworthy to live among us by a world being enveloped by encroaching darkness. Perhaps there is no one who could be such a courageous, compelling advocate for the least of these as a mother of a newborn baby with Down syndrome.She spoke passionately for these children in front of a secular audience. She was clear and direct about their Creator and about our responsibility. She was a breath of fresh air in a world where God is rarely mentioned except for the compulsory "God Bless America."
Actually, I've already voted. Mike sent for my absentee ballot about five seconds after I was admitted to the hospital. But, clearly, there's another issue where Obama's position is nearly as scary as his position on the sanctity of life. I'm no expert, but I do put some stock (no pun intended) in the educated opinion of 100 economists.
Our neighborhood doesn't allow yard signs. But, in the last week before the election, I'm pretty sure these would attract some attention and make a rather creative statement. I'm also pretty sure that one cannot carve pumpkins whilst laying on her side. But Mike could do it...Patterns for all the candidates here.
