Extra Yarn

Extra Yarn is actually a new one, despite my promise to myself not to buy new. I couldn't resist! It's the story of Annabel, who finds a box of yarn that just keeps giving. She knits for the entire town and then starts knitting covers for houses and trucks and trees. Her box of yarn keeps giving and she keeps knitting! Her previously dingy gray town brightens beautifully at the work of her hands. When an archduke offers her huge sums of money for box of yarn, things get interesting.

My girls can't get enough of this book!

Ideas for extending the story:

• Knit, of course.
• Dye your own rainbow yarn.
• Write a different ending. What if Annabel had sold the yarn?

Stop looking around for ways to affirm your self worth. Look up.

Don't just tell God you love Him. Show Him.

Treat your children's feelings with the same care and sensitivity with which you epect others to treat your feelings.

Lent is a Good Thing

Here is where I admit that I like Lent. After the busy happiness of Christmas and the inevitable juggling of schedules and commitments that comes with the new year, I like to peel back the layers of abundance and get down to the basics of relationship.
