Peter and I filled a few of the gnomes' miniature baskets with different amounts of gemstones.

Peter emptied each basket and counted the number of gemstones. (This was a big help to the gnomes!)

In gnome fashion, Peter used wooden spindles as sticks to make a Roman Numeral to match the number of gemstones.
