A Handmade Alphabet

It was Nicholas, long ago, who insisted we buy The Handmade Alphabet And with this book began our family's plunge into sign language. Before long, the many, many wonderful songs of Signing Time became an integral part of our family culture. The Handmade Alphabet features amazing pictures of human hands signing each of the 26 alphabet letters with a cue in or around them.
Extending the book:
- Do check out Signing Time. I've sung its praises before and I'm still a big fan.
- Challenge each other to learn the Alphabet Song on Signing Time or to sign while singing the traiditional ABC song.
- Learn to draw hands. It's definitely a challenge.
- Do a sign language alphabet puzzle.

/An extra day in February means that there's one more day for a February giveaway. May I make a confession here? I don't like Easter grass. Actually, I detest it. Multiply one shred of paper or plastic "grass" times a basket full of it, times NINE and oh-my-stars! it's just a giant mess. And why? So I admit that I often line baskets with something other than fake grass.
