Fast

Clean out the refrigerator today instead of eating lunch. Pull everything out and wipe it all down. Thank God for the food He provides for your family. As you put things back, listen to God's will for you as a homemaker.

Pray

Give thanks for food, clothes, and shelter. Listen to God's plan for stewardship.

Give

"The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty." (Blessed Teresa of Calcutta).

Assure the people in your home that they are wanted, loved, and cared for. Don't use words.

Lent ~ March 16

Fast

Rise a little earlier and bring your husband breakfast in bed. (If it's too late today, plan for tomorrow).

Pray

Move your wedding band to your right hand. Every time you notice the difference today, pray for your marriage Listen to God's answers

Give

Plan a date night for you and your husband. Make it special and make it fun!

Lent ~ March 15

Fast

Don't compare or complain. Do compliment.

Pray

Ask God to make you humble and lowly.

Give

Pack a picnic and go somewhere to eat it with your children. If the weather is prohibitive, build a tent in the living room and eat it there. Sit on the ground with them. Be fully present.

Lent ~ March 14

Fast

We're half way through. compare yourself now to yourself when Lent began. Tweak the plan.

Pray

Insist on quiet from all your children during naptime today. Pray the Divine Mercy chaplet.

Give

Reach out to a local friend today. Reconnect.

Quiet around here these days

Every once in  awhile, words don't come and I don't beg them. Instead, I retreat further. I seek silence as if it could envelope and soothe all on its own.

The remaining Lenten prompts are queued and ready to go. With those exceptions, I expect this space will be quiet until Easter. The world is blooming and I don't want to miss it.
