Lent ~ March 17

Fast

Clean out the refrigerator today instead of eating lunch. Pull everything out and wipe it all down. Thank God for the food He provides for your family. As you put things back, listen to God's will for you as a homemaker.

Pray

Give thanks for food, clothes, and shelter. Listen to God's plan for stewardship.

"The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty." (Blessed Teresa of Calcutta).

Assure the people in your home that they are wanted, loved, and cared for. Don't use words.

Quiet around here these days

Every once in  awhile, words don't come and I don't beg them. Instead, I retreat further. I seek silence as if it could envelope and soothe all on its own.

The remaining Lenten prompts are queued and ready to go. With those exceptions, I expect this space will be quiet until Easter. The world is blooming and I don't want to miss it.

Be well, my friends. I look forward to celebrating our risen Lord with you in this space!

When from our better selves we have too long been parted by the hurrying world, and droop.

Sick of its business, of its pleasures tired, how gracious, how benign is solitude.

~William Wordsworth
